duplicate smtpâ¡CNF:<GUID> in Exchange 2003
Hello,
I have installed Exchange 2003 Standard SP2 and had some errors related to SMTP. As per a Microsoft article I had to removed SMTP from IIS, re-add it to IIS, re-install Exchange and SP2.
After I was done the errors were cleared and the Exchange server sends/receives email fine.
However I have conflicting obejects in the Exchange System Manger.
I have an SMTP folder with a working SMTP Virtual Server. But I also have a folder (under the Exchange Server Name then under Protocols) named SMTPcnf:<GUID>
I also have this conflict for NNTP, OMA and Microsoft-Server-Active-Sync.
I have found all these conflicted object in ADSIedit. Should I just delete these object with the "CNF:<GUID>" or not?
I want to clean up the Exchange System manager and ensure that everything is working fine.
Any help would be Greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
csarris

Hi,
It should be safe to just delete these conflicting items with adsiedit.
